The town of Orocovis will host a meeting for transplant patients, those on the waiting list, and their families this Saturday at the Orocovis Reception Center. The event, organized by the Hospital Auxilio Mutuo’s Transplant Patient Support Group, will bring together patients who have received kidney, liver, or pancreas transplants, as well as those waiting for a transplant.
The meeting will provide a space for education, sharing testimonies, and conversation with others who have had similar experiences. According to Dr. Nilka de Jesús, medical director of the Hospital Auxilio Mutuo’s Transplant Center, the event will offer patients the opportunity to educate themselves and share with others who have gone through similar experiences. The event’s program includes educational resources on comprehensive care for transplant patients, testimonials, group dynamics, and guidance on organ donation and transplantation.
