Orocovis

Orocovis is a town and municipality in the geographic center of Puerto Rico, an inland community set among the island's mountainous interior. It lies about 25 miles from San Juan and is organized into 17 barrios, sitting at a crossroads bordered by Villalba and Coamo to the south, Morovis and Corozal to the north, Ciales to the southeast, Jayuya to the east, and Barranquitas to the west.

The town was founded by Juan Rivera de Santiago in 1825 and has since grown into a community of roughly 21,434 residents. Despite its central, inland location, Orocovis is included within the San Juan-Caguas-Guaynabo Metropolitan Statistical Area, linking it administratively to the capital region even as its setting remains distinctly mountainous and rural.
