Tony Ruiz has been announced as the new director of the Ganaderas de Hatillo team in the Baloncesto Superior Nacional Femenino (BSNF) for the 2026 season. Ruiz previously directed the team in 2023 and was recognized as Director of the Year.
He returns to the team after they were eliminated by the Explosivas de Moca in the quarterfinals under the direction of Jorge Otero. Ruiz expressed his happiness at returning to the team, calling it 'something magical' and a 'blessing from God and the Virgin.' With only nine days until the start of the tournament, Ruiz acknowledged the challenge ahead and has already begun working with the team, imparting his first practice as director on Thursday.
The new season of the BSNF will begin on September 12, with the Ganaderas visiting the Explosivas in Moca.
