A new mission by Puerto Rican researchers will send around 35 million mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) to the International Space Station in 2027. The mission, led by investigators from the University of Puerto Rico's Mayagüez Campus (RUM), aims to explore how to enhance the cells' capacity for regenerative tissue connection and increase their anti-inflammatory activity for benefits on Earth.
