Potrero Los Llanos, a renowned horse breeding center in Coamo, has been sold to US investor Gregory John Mislow III after 55 years under the administration of the Maldonado family. Despite the change in ownership, the Maldonado family will continue to manage the breeding operations.

Los Llanos is a key center for breeding purebred horses for Puerto Rican horse racing and has produced over 150 winners of local classics, including Carismático, the most recent Triple Corona champion. The new owner, Mislow, has no prior experience in the horse racing industry but has a background in agriculture and real estate.

The breeding center has a scheduled auction of foals and yearlings for October 7, 2026. Carismático, who won the Triple Corona in 2025, recently began his season as a four-year-old at the Hipódromo Camarero, with the goal of representing Puerto Rico in the upcoming Caribbean Horse Racing Series.
