The Montañesas de Utuado and Estrellas del Guamaní de Guayama achieved double victories in the second day of the 2026 women's baseball league season, Edgardo José 'Jockman' Ortiz tournament. Utuado won 9-4 and 5-2 against previously undefeated Maceteras de Vega Alta, taking the lead in the North section with a 3-1 record. Noelia de Jesús pitched a complete game and struck out four batters in the first match, while Marie Collazo and Carelys Vázquez each drove in two runs.
In the second match, Yedlimar de Jesús worked four and two-thirds innings with eight strikeouts to earn the win. Guayama also had a dominant day in the South section, winning 14-0 and 15-3 against Piratas de Cabo Rojo. Jailyn Lebrón pitched four scoreless innings to win the first game, and Valeria Negrón drove in three runs.
The league action will continue on Saturday with matches between Juana Díaz and Guayama, Cabo Rojo and Santa Isabel, Utuado and Loíza, and Las Piedras and Vega Alta.
