Tourist Couple Robbed at Gunpoint in San Juan

A tourist couple was robbed at gunpoint near the entrance of Paseo Caribe in San Juan. The incident occurred around 10:16 p.m. on Monday, according to a preliminary police report. A 63-year-old man from Milwaukee and his wife were walking along the Luis Muñoz Rivera marginal when they were intercepted by an individual dressed in black with a covered face.

The suspect, using a firearm and intimidation, stole a gold chain with a crucifix and a gold Turkish-style bracelet valued at approximately $5,000 from the man. The suspect then fled the scene in an unknown direction. No injuries were reported during the incident.

Agent Raymond Flores, assigned to the Calle Loíza and Turística precincts, conducted the preliminary investigation and referred the case to the San Juan Criminal Investigations Corps' Robbery Division.
