The Fundación De Frente al Alzheimer and the Autonomous Municipality of Caguas inaugurated a new day-care center called "De Frente al Alzheimer te da un Respiro," offering free services to people with mild-to-moderate Alzheimer's and support to their caregivers. The center is located in the Cañaboncito neighborhood of Caguas in remodeled facilities with specialized staff. The opening ceremony included Caguas Mayor William Miranda Torres, foundation founder Teresa Seda, and Puerto Rican singer Víctor Manuelle, the organization's patron.

The center will operate Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., staffed by a coordinator, a social worker, a therapist, a nurse, caregivers, and maintenance personnel. Services include cognitive stimulation, music therapy, art therapy, recreational activities, multisensory experiences, social interaction, and a snack for participants. To qualify, participants must reside in Caguas, be in a mild-to-moderate stage of Alzheimer's, and belong to a low-income family; interested individuals can apply through the Municipality's Citizen Assistance Office.

Víctor Manuelle spoke about the sacrifices caregivers make and thanked the mayor and foundation, while Mayor Miranda Torres said Caguas's commitment is to its people.
