A 30-year-old man died on Thursday after being shot in Manatí while waiting for transportation to his job, Puerto Rico Police reported. The victim was identified as Ángel Gabriel Rivera Toledo, a resident of Vega Baja.
According to preliminary police information, Rivera Toledo was at a bus stop on PR-670, in front of the Acrópolis sports complex, in the early morning hours waiting for staff from a landscaping company to pick him up for work. During that time, under circumstances still under investigation, he was shot.
He was taken to a hospital in a private vehicle in critical condition and died there hours later. The Homicide Division of the Bureau of Criminal Investigations (CIC) in Arecibo has taken over the investigation along with the on-duty prosecutor.
