An investigation into a death-threat complaint led Aguadilla area police to seize 17 illegal firearms during a raid. The case began in the early morning of September 8, when a victim reported that his neighbor threatened him with a firearm in the Maleza Alta neighborhood of Aguadilla. Police requested a search warrant, which was issued by Judge Davier Alfaro on Wednesday.
During the search, officers found short and long firearms, magazines, and large quantities of ammunition. The suspect, a former U.S. Border Patrol agent who does not hold a firearms license, was arrested that night, according to the Police Press Office.
The seized weapons included three 9mm pistols, three revolvers, eight rifles, three shotguns, a firing pin hammer, 39 magazines, and 14,047 rounds of ammunition. The warrant was executed by officers Abel Musa and Gustavo Cruz Morales under the supervision of Lieutenant Iraida Román Villanueva, commander of the Aguadilla district. The case is being consulted with the prosecutor's office to file corresponding charges.
