Judge Orlando Puldón Gómez of the Carolina Tribunal found cause for arrest against 21-year-old Sacheliz Cristal 'Chachi' Ortiz Valentín, who allegedly attempted to obtain a 69-year-old man's ATH card through a supposed fraud scheme. According to the police investigation, Ortiz Valentín, a resident of Fajardo, called the man and pretended to be a bank employee, then visited his residence and asked for his ATH card.
The man became suspicious and immediately contacted the police, leading to Ortiz Valentín's arrest. The Carolina Prosecutor's Office charged Ortiz Valentín with financial exploitation of an elderly person.
Judge Puldón Gómez determined cause for arrest on all charges and set a $5,000 bail, which was posted through a guarantor.
