The St. Louis Cardinals will induct Puerto Rican catcher Yadier Molina and Dominican slugger Albert Pujols into the team's Hall of Fame in a ceremony Saturday at Busch Stadium, starting at 6:00 p.m., ahead of the game scheduled for 7:15 p.m. Both will receive the traditional red jackets given to Cardinals Hall of Famers and will address fans about their careers.
Molina played all 19 of his MLB seasons (2004-2022) exclusively with St. Louis, batting .277 with 2,168 hits, 176 home runs and 1,022 RBIs, winning two World Series titles, nine Gold Gloves, and ten All-Star selections; he will first appear on the Cooperstown Hall of Fame ballot in 2028. Pujols had two stints with the Cardinals, winning two World Series titles and three National League MVP awards, and finished his career with the team in 2022, the same year he reached 700 home runs and Molina retired.
Both were teammates on the 2006 and 2011 championship teams. The ceremony will also feature Cardinals Hall of Famers Ozzie Smith, Tony La Russa and Mark McGwire, plus the posthumous induction of pitcher Bill Sherdel.
