The family of Carlos Díaz in Orocovis is seeking support to purchase a vehicle that can accommodate their children with functional diversity. The family, consisting of six members, currently uses a Toyota Corolla, but it has become increasingly difficult to transport their 10- and 11-year-old children, who require wheelchairs and assistance with daily activities. The children suffered convulsions at three days old and have since faced neurological effects, leaving them unable to speak or walk.
The family has started a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for a more spacious vehicle, which would allow them to move around with greater comfort and autonomy. With their current vehicle, they often have to disassemble the wheelchairs to fit them in the trunk, and the lack of space limits their ability to participate in family activities. Díaz, the 35-year-old stepfather, explained that they often have to rely on others for transportation, which is not always available.
The family hopes to find a solution to their transportation challenges and improve their quality of life.
