The Caguas Municipality has announced a new date for the National Day of the Puerto Rican Cuatro celebration, which will take place on September 28 at the Santiago R. Palmer Plaza. The event, organized by the Department of Cultural Development, was previously postponed due to inclement weather.
Director Carmen Muñoz Hernández expressed gratitude for the public's patience and reiterated the importance of the event in promoting and preserving Puerto Rican traditions. The celebration will feature renowned interpreters, artisans, and music lovers, and will honor two distinguished figures in Puerto Rican music and lutherie: Ricky Torres and Agustín Acevedo. The event will include the traditional Magno Concurso de Cuatristas, a competition open to Puerto Rico residents in different age categories.
Inscriptions will be held on the day of the event, and the public will also be able to enjoy the participation of the Orquesta Jíbara Dr.
