Las Cangrejeras de Santurce won their first game of the Baloncesto Superior Nacional Femenino (BSNF) season, defeating Las Ganaderas de Hatillo 71-45 at the Coliseo Roberto Clemente in San Juan. Teana Muldrow led Santurce's offense with 15 points and 9 rebounds, while Shae Kelley added 13 points and 12 rebounds. The team dominated the first half 37-19, capitalizing on 11 turnovers for 15 points.
Coach Fernando Casablanca credited the team's ability to limit Hatillo to 13 points per quarter as the key to their victory. For Hatillo, Dontavia Waggoner scored 21 points and 6 rebounds, and Okako Adika had 11 points and 11 rebounds. The loss leaves Hatillo with a 1-1 record, while Santurce starts the season 1-0.
The BSNF will continue on Wednesday, September 16, with two games: Monarcas de Juana Díaz vs. Cariduras de Fajardo and Atenienses de Manatí vs. Las Cangrejeras, both starting at 8:00 p.m. and available on the league's YouTube platform.
