Ángel Javier Avilés Monzón, also known as Yovngchimi, will not be able to recover his distinctive gold chain with a pendant that reads 'MONEY WAYY'. Judge María Antongiorgi Jordán from the Federal District Court in Hato Rey denied a reconsideration petition.
This is the second time the judge has rejected the petition to return the chain. Yovngchimi's defense attorney, Saam Zangeneh, had filed a motion to reclaim the chain, which was seized during an investigation.
The prosecution argued that the chain is pertinent evidence for an ongoing investigation and requested that the petition be denied. Yovngchimi had previously been sentenced to 20 months in prison, three years of supervised release, and a $25,000 fine after pleading guilty to a case involving the possession of an automatic firearm.
