The National Weather Service (SNM) office in San Juan maintained flood warnings Thursday for numerous Puerto Rico municipalities amid heavy rain and thunderstorms. A warning for Ceiba, Fajardo and Luquillo, where 1–2 inches of rain had fallen by 3:39 p.m., was extended to 6:45 p.m. with up to 1 additional inch expected. Aibonito, Cayey, Cidra and Coamo remained under warning until 5:30 p.m., also with 1–2 inches recorded and up to 1 more inch possible.
Vieques was under warning until 5:30 p.m., with Doppler radar estimating 1–2 inches accumulated and up to 2 additional inches possible—the largest additional total forecast among the areas. In the south, Arroyo, Guayama and Salinas remained under warning until 5:15 p.m., with 1–2 inches fallen and up to 1 more inch possible. A warning for northwest Arecibo, north Camuy and Hatillo, plus Isabela and Quebradillas, was extended until 4:30 p.m., with 1–2.5 inches estimated and up to 1 additional inch possible.
The SNM reported water on some roadways.
