The Puerto Rico Police rescued seven puppies and their mother from under a wagon in Arecibo, where they were in danger. Officer Joel Vidot Soto, from the Animal Welfare and Protection Unit, reported the situation on social media. The puppies were trapped under the wagon, and one was stuck.
The mother was captured later. The puppies will be available for adoption through the Rabito Kontento Foundation, which will provide medical care and vaccinations. The foundation's spokesperson, Vanessa Franqui, said the dogs are in good condition and will be taken to a veterinarian for vaccination and sterilization.
The rescue is part of the foundation's efforts to help abandoned animals in Puerto Rico. The incident highlights the problem of stray animals on the island, where scenes of dogs and cats in need are common.
