A dispute over a ship’s entry into San Juan Bay is putting the gas supply for electricity generation at risk. New Fortress Energy (NFE) plans to dock a ship at its fuel terminal to ensure a continuous supply of natural gas for electricity generation.
However, the ship’s entry is being disputed by maritime traffic controllers in the bay, who claim that the vessel exceeds the dimensions agreed upon in a federally approved agreement. The controllers are responsible for directing maritime traffic in the bay.
