Hatillo Mayor Carlos Román Román criticized AAA executive president Luis González Delgado over a water outage affecting roughly 60% of the municipality's population, concentrated in five neighborhoods: Carrizales, Corvocado, Pajuil, Campo Alegre and Buena Vista. The mayor said three schools—Padre Aníbal Reyes, Timoteo Delgado, and Luis Meléndez Rodríguez—suspended classes, and elderly care centers and businesses were forced to halt operations.
He said Hatillo's water tanker trucks must travel to San Sebastián to refill, a round trip of about five hours, and criticized both AAA and LUMA Energy for failing to give concrete answers.
