The La Plata reservoir in Comerío, Puerto Rico, experienced a slight increase in its water level after recent rains, reaching 40.40 meters as of 5:00 a.m. on Thursday, according to the Autoridad de Acueductos y Alcantarillados (AAA). The increase was 4 centimeters, following two consecutive days of rain in various parts of the island, including the east, interior, metropolitan area, and west.
The La Plata reservoir remains under 'Ajustes Operacionales' (operational adjustments), while the Carraízo reservoir in Trujillo Alto also saw a significant increase, reaching a level of 40.64 meters. The rains brought relief to the La Plata reservoir, which had been experiencing lower water levels.
The AAA continues to monitor the situation, with the reservoirs playing a crucial role in the island's water supply.
