Puerto Rican singer Danny Rivera will celebrate the 75th anniversary of the iconic Christmas composition 'Villancico Yaucano' with a concert series titled 'Todo Empezó en una Nochebuena'. The series will start on November 22 at the Centro de Bellas Artes de Santurce and continue on November 29 at the Ponce Hilton Golf & Casino.
Rivera will pay homage to the theme, composed by Amaury Veray Torregrosa in 1951, and perform his acclaimed Christmas classics, including 'Mañanita Campera', 'El Coquí', and 'Ponle por nombre Jesús'. The concert aims to strengthen Puerto Rican tradition and celebrate the country's culture. 'Villancico Yaucano' was originally created for a Misa de Gallo in Yauco and has since been recorded by various artists, including Ednita Nazario and Plácido Domingo.
Tickets are available for purchase on Ticketera and Ticketcenter. Rivera expressed his excitement to celebrate the 75 years of 'Villancico Yaucano', stating that the concert will showcase the beauty and timelessness of Puerto Rican culture.
