The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a heat advisory for all of Puerto Rico on Saturday, effective from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The heat index is expected to fluctuate between 102 and 111 degrees Fahrenheit. The NWS warned that most people sensitive to heat may be affected and advised staying hydrated, taking frequent breaks, and limiting intense physical activity during the hottest hours.

To avoid heat-related risks, the agency recommended drinking plenty of liquids, staying in air-conditioned rooms, avoiding sun exposure, and checking on family members and neighbors. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration also recommended scheduling frequent breaks in shaded or air-conditioned areas for outdoor workers. In case of heat-related emergencies, individuals are advised to call 911 and move the affected person to a cool and shaded area.
