A 29-year-old driver was shot and injured on Friday night while driving his red Kia Rio in the Manuel A. Pérez residential area of Hato Rey. According to the preliminary police report, the incident occurred around 9:15 p.m. when the victim, accompanied by a woman, was driving near building A-14 on López Sicardó street in the public housing complex.
An individual allegedly fired several shots at the car, hitting the front right side and a window. The driver was shot in the left thigh and right shoulder, but authorities described the injuries as superficial. Police recovered 12 .40 caliber shell casings from the scene.
The case was referred to the San Juan Criminal Investigations Corps' (CIC) Aggressions Division. The incident is under investigation.
