The organization noted that the federal government has significant responsibility for the failures and delays in Puerto Rico's recovery, but also emphasized that the Puerto Rican government, led by the Partido Nuevo Progresista (PNP), must be held accountable.
Power4PuertoRico criticized the Trump administration's interference in recovery funds and the Puerto Rican government's failure to use allocated funds for reconstruction. According to a July 1 report by the Government Accountability Office (GAO), only about one-fifth of the $17.1 billion allocated for rebuilding Puerto Rico's electrical grid had been disbursed by the end of 2025.
Power4PuertoRico demanded that the Puerto Rican government accelerate the use of recovery funds for urgent public needs, including water infrastructure, affordable housing, and solar panel installation. The coalition warned that the public should not be subjected to failing public systems that could lead to privatization plans.
