The Municipality of Guaynabo announced the total closure of a section of PR-1 in the La Muda sector due to the installation of metal beams at the intersection of PR-1, PR-169, and PR-8834. The closure will begin at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 25, and will last until 5:00 a.m. on Monday, September 28, 2026. During this time, drivers will need to use alternative routes.
Vehicles heading to Caguas, San Juan, and PR-8834 will be diverted to Avenida Martínez Nadal. Drivers on PR-1 from San Juan to Caguas will be diverted at the Total gas station, while those from Caguas to San Juan will be diverted after passing the Avenida Martínez Nadal bridge. Vehicles from PR-8834 to San Juan can continue straight, but those from PR-8834 to Caguas or PR-169 will be diverted to San Juan and then to Caguas via the Total gas station ramp and Avenida Martínez Nadal.
The municipality urged drivers to exercise caution and consider alternative routes during the closure.
