Police officers arrested a woman on Tuesday for allegedly attempting to set fire to a patrol car in the parking area of the Capitol building in San Juan. According to preliminary information, the woman, described by authorities as homeless, arrived at the parking lot on Reverendo Dávila street and allegedly set fire to a piece of clothing. She then reportedly threw the burning item under a parked Dodge Charger police car.
The officers intervened and arrested the woman. The official vehicle did not suffer any damage as a result of the incident, according to the Police. The Explosives Division will consult with the on-duty prosecutor to determine possible charges.
The woman's actions were stopped before any harm was done.
