Loyalty NRA Women On Target is offering free training for women in the use of firearms, focusing on protection and security. The training, to be held on September 26 and 27, will cover various aspects including education, self-defense, responsible use of firearms, laws, and psychology. According to the Division of Arms Regulation and Licensing, 3,015 women have applied for new firearms licenses this year, with 2,355 approved.
Additionally, 3,887 women have renewed their licenses, and 118 women have obtained special licenses for victims of domestic violence. The training is directed at women over 18 years old, with or without experience with firearms, and has a limited capacity of 50 participants per day. Richard Rodríguez, director of Loyalty NRA Women On Target, emphasized that the goal is not only to train women in the use of firearms but also to educate them on how to act in situations where they may need to use them.
Women over 40 years old have shown the most interest in these types of courses, citing concerns for their family's security.
