Viviana Sepúlveda Hernández, a 44-year-old woman from Dorado, was taken to prison after being accused of aggravated damage and arson for attempting to set a Puerto Rico Police patrol car on fire at the Capitol Police station in San Juan. According to the police report, on September 22, 2026, Sepúlveda Hernández arrived at the station's parking area, lit a piece of clothing on fire, and threw it under a marked police vehicle, a gray Dodge Charger.
She was arrested and charged with two counts after the case was reviewed by prosecutor María Cruz. Judge Carieliz Erazo of the San Juan Tribunal determined there was cause for arrest and set a $30,000 bail, which Sepúlveda Hernández was unable to pay.
She was then taken to the women's correctional complex in Bayamón. The incident was investigated by Agent Ortiz of the Capitolino District.
