Krystal Crespo started Congelé Ice Cream in 2024 with a food truck in Puerta de Tierra, producing six flavors of artisanal ice cream per month. Less than two years later, the business has grown to produce between 60 and 90 flavors and is preparing to open its third location in Puerto Rico. Congelé currently operates in Fajardo and Miramar, with a variety of unique flavors such as lavender, berries, and guanábana.
The business also offers traditional, vegan, and sorbet options, as well as other desserts like taco dulce and nachos dulces made with mantecado and waffle. Crespo creates her own recipes based on local products and distributes the ice cream from her Fajardo location to other points of sale. The new location in Hatillo will be the third for Congelé, and Crespo plans to identify other strategic locations to expand the business in Puerto Rico.
