A Carolina Court judge, Rebeca Vega, found probable cause for the arrest of Yomarvin Morales Ayala, 40, on charges of sexual assault, incest, and abuse against his then-girlfriend's daughter. Police say Morales Ayala, who had no prior criminal record, sexually abused the girl starting in 2020, when she was about 8 years old, and threatened her to keep her silent.
He faces 15 charges total. According to the investigation, the child eventually told her mother what was happening; the mother immediately ended the relationship and filed a complaint with authorities, alerting police after the girl described what her stepfather was doing. Police also revealed the accused worked at a school in the Cupey area and had no prior criminal record. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Wednesday, October 7.
