The Atenienses de Manatí improved to 4-1 in the Baloncesto Superior Nacional Femenino (BSNF) season by defeating the Cangrejeras de Santurce 76-68 on Saturday at the Juan Aubín Cruz coliseum. Manatí took control from the first quarter, leading 27-14, and went into halftime with a 41-23 advantage. Santurce reacted in the second half and closed the gap to 71-67 in the final minute.
Chelsea Mitchell then scored a three-pointer to increase the lead to seven points and secure the win for Manatí. Pamela Rosado led Manatí with 18 points, six rebounds, and seven assists. For Santurce, now 4-2, Shae Kelley had a dominant performance with 32 points, 17 rebounds, eight assists, and four blocks.
In another game, the Gigantes de Carolina resisted a comeback by the Cariduras de Fajardo to win 65-63 and improve their record to 3-2. Fajardo closed the gap to 64-63 with 22 seconds left, but Mya Hollingshed made one of two free throws to seal the win. Joyner Holmes and Grace Berger scored 20 points each for Carolina, while Talia Von Oelhoffen and Jackie Benítez led Fajardo with 16 points each. Fajardo fell to 1-5.
