Governor Jenniffer González Colón announced the construction of a residential complex with 222 apartments for low- and moderate-income seniors in Santurce, as part of a $139.6 million project. The Ponce de León #55 project, promoted by the Administración de Vivienda Pública (AVP), will be located on a 1.67-acre site and will include six residential levels, two semi-basement parking levels, and a total of 268,500 square feet of construction.
The complex will have 218 one-bedroom apartments and four two-bedroom apartments, as well as 147 parking spaces and accessible routes for people with reduced mobility. The project will also feature a plaza, gym, community room, and other amenities. The construction will be carried out by F&R Construction Group, Inc. and is expected to begin in October 2026 and be completed in November 2029.
The project's financial structure includes $80.6 million in CDBG-DR funds, $44.6 million in Low-Income Housing Tax Credit, and $10 million in Capital Funds from the AVP.
