The Department of Family (DF) suspended the license of the 'Pasemisin Kids' daycare center in Bayamón on Monday, where a four-month-old baby died last week. According to the DF document, the suspension is due to 'serious non-compliances related to adequate supervision and the minimum required personnel for infant care' on September 23, after the baby's death.
The center's administration filed a lawsuit against the DF, claiming they were in compliance and the allegations are false. The DF declared the center's request 'without merit' and stated that controversies should be addressed through the corresponding administrative process. The center has 15 days to request a review and appeal the administrative decision.
The center also claimed that parents of 38 minors enrolled as of September 22, 2026, signed letters requesting the immediate reopening of the daycare and expressing support for the establishment and its employees.
