The Police arrested Javier Maldonado Cosme, a man who allegedly attacked his 62-year-old mother with a machete in the Los Cortijos sector of the Santa Rosa neighborhood in Guaynabo. Maldonado Cosme, who has a prior criminal record for weapons charges, returned to the same house where the incident occurred and was taken into custody. After being read his rights, he allegedly admitted to the crime.
The victim, Maldonado Cosme's mother, was treated at a local hospital for a head wound and received 17 stitches. The case has been referred to the Bayamón Criminal Investigations Corps (CIC) for further investigation. This is not the first incident involving Maldonado Cosme, according to reports from Saturday.
