A 54-year-old man was attacked with a machete outside his home in the Balboa neighborhood of Mayagüez, according to the Police Press Office. The incident occurred around 7:50 pm on Thursday, when several individuals approached the victim's home, leading to a discussion that escalated into violence.
One of the men, armed with a machete, injured the victim in various parts of his body. The suspect and his companions fled the scene.
The victim received 55 stitches in the emergency room and is currently in stable condition. Agent Dixon Rodríguez of the Mayagüez CIC's Homicide Division is handling the investigation.
