The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has obligated over $87 million for 47 recovery projects in Puerto Rico, including public lighting, the Punta Santiago Pier in Humacao, and water and road infrastructure works in various municipalities. The projects are part of the ongoing recovery efforts after hurricanes Maria and Fiona. The funds include $38 million for public lighting modernization in three municipalities: Moca, Lares, and Aguas Buenas.
Additionally, $9.2 million will go towards the permanent works of the Punta Santiago Pier, and other projects include the reconstruction of the Puente 1199 and the repair and replacement of poles and conductors in the Caguas region. Governor Jenniffer González Colón expressed gratitude to President Donald J. Trump, his administration, and FEMA for their continued support for Puerto Rico's recovery.
The obligated funds will contribute to the recovery of critical infrastructure, including the Punta Santiago Pier, which is important for the community and economic activity in the area.
