Egidio E. Rico Rozas, a 52-year-old man, faces charges for allegedly misappropriating $79,309.53 from JMB, a company he worked for as an independent salesman and collector in Caguas. According to an investigation by the Caguas Criminal Investigations Corps (CIC), Rico Rozas allegedly used his position to misappropriate the company's money between October and November 2025.
The case was reviewed by prosecutor Fernando Machado, who instructed the filing of charges for violations of Article 182 of the Puerto Rico Penal Code, regarding aggravated illegal misappropriation, and Article 202B, related to fraud. The evidence was presented to Judge Irmarie Colón Massó, who determined cause for arrest and imposed a $10,000 bond. Rico Rozas posted the bond through a private surety and was released on provisional liberty until the preliminary hearing, the date of which was not specified.
