Mother of Presumed Driver in Manatí Crash Speaks Out

The mother of 23-year-old Edward J. Rivera Cordero, the presumed driver who allegedly ran a red light and crashed into a family's vehicle in Manatí on September 26, spoke about her son's condition and announced that her family will donate blood. The accident left Gendy Rivera Nevárez and Carlos Meléndez Guadalupe in critical condition, with Nevárez undergoing an emergency cesarean section.

Their newborn daughter is stable, and their 13-year-old son has been discharged. The mother of the presumed driver expressed concern for her son's emotional state and asked for prayers for both families. The family will donate blood in the coming days, amid a national call for blood donations.

The police reported that the woman, who was seven months pregnant, and her husband remain in critical condition.
