Senator Wanda Soto responded to a post by Senate President Thomas Rivera Schatz, who demanded that the Department of Justice intervene following allegations by former ADSEF director Blanca Medina. Medina stated that she was allegedly pressured to sign multimillion-dollar contracts related to federal funds. Soto said the Senate's Commission on Family will summon to public hearings those involved in the dismissal of the ADSEF administrator, as well as the contracts and reputations at issue.
"It will be evaluated, requesting and summoning the persons who correspond," the legislator said. Separately, Rivera Schatz linked what happened to the case of former senator Abel Nazario, who was arrested under similar circumstances.
