A woman died on Tuesday night after being struck by a vehicle on PR-129 highway in front of the Social Security offices in Arecibo, according to the Puerto Rico Police. The accident occurred when a Nissan Versa traveling on the highway hit a pedestrian under circumstances that are still under investigation. The woman died at the scene due to the impact.
The authorities have not yet released her identity or that of the driver involved in the accident. Agent Manuel Rivera Medina, assigned to the Arecibo Highway Patrol Division, is in charge of the investigation along with the on-duty prosecutor. The authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances that led to the accident.
