Jean Peña Payano, Secretary of Public Affairs at La Fortaleza, said Governor Jenniffer González constantly evaluates the members of her cabinet, but he did not categorically state whether Family Department Secretary Suzanne Roig Fuertes retains the governor's confidence. He spoke in an interview on El Nuevo Día's program "Lo de Hoy," amid controversy surrounding the Family Department following the departure of Blanca Medina Díaz, administrator of the Socioeconomic Development of the Family Administration (Adsef), and the strong accusations she has made.

Peña Payano said he is also under constant evaluation and that the governor decides how long someone enjoys her trust, citing the Adsef case, where the administrator was asked to resign and was then dismissed. The removal has prompted questions and an exchange of accusations among Family Department-related officials, ranging from alleged harassment and undue pressure to threats of aggression.

Asked whether the governor had called Roig Fuertes to account, he said he had no direct knowledge but that Secretary of the Governorship Norma Burgos Andújar intervened, meeting with both parties separately and then together to seek ways to resolve their differences. He said the situation became "unsustainable" and that is why the Adsef administrator is no longer in government.

He added that both women have had the chance to present their versions and asked that the conflicting allegations be weighed against evidence.
