LCS Private School in Corozal, Puerto Rico, was recognized as the Happiest School in Ibero-America at the ExpoEducación event in Torrelodones, Spain, organized by the Ibero-American Network of Education and Happiness (REDIFE). The school’s Dance Team, led by Eliseo Vázquez, performed a representation of Puerto Rican culture, earning the distinction. According to Gisselle Pagán, the school’s director and founder, the recognition is a result of the school’s philosophy of prioritizing the well-being and happiness of its students.
REDIFE, founded in 2021 by Marcela Barbosa Cifuentes, aims to promote well-being, happiness, and human development in education. With this recognition, LCS Private School has been invited to the ExpoEducación in Colombia and hopes to bring the REDIFE network to Puerto Rico to create a community of schools that can learn from each other. The school has around 250 students and is led by a team that believes in the importance of attending to the human side of students before focusing on their academic development.
