LCS Private School in Corozal, Puerto Rico, has received international recognition for its educational approach focused on students’ well-being and integral development. The school was named the Happiest School in Ibero-America during the ExpoEducación event in Torrelodones, Spain, organized by the Ibero-American Network of Education and Happiness (REDIFE). The school’s Dance Team, led by Eliseo Vázquez, represented Puerto Rico at the event, showcasing the island’s artistic and cultural expressions.
According to Gisselle Pagán, the school’s director and founder, the recognition represents an opportunity to promote a vision of teaching that prioritizes students’ well-being as an essential part of the learning process. LCS Private School is now seeking to extend this philosophy to other educational institutions in Puerto Rico and has been invited to participate in ExpoEducación Colombia.
The school aims to create a community of learning where schools can share practices and develop strategies to better attend to students, educators, and families. With approximately 250 students, LCS Private School wants to open spaces for other Puerto Rican educational institutions to learn about REDIFE’s philosophy and exchange experiences with centers from other countries.
