Two young entrepreneurs, owners of the MAZ Health & Fitness gym in Mayagüez, reported a robbery on Monday morning and are still waiting for investigators from the Puerto Rico Police to arrive at the scene. The incident occurred in the early morning hours, with thieves scaling the building, stealing equipment and merchandise valued at around $30,000, and vandalizing the property, destroying about 50% of the gym.
The owners, including Gilberto A. Pérez Lugo, expressed frustration and disappointment with the delayed response from the police, having reported the crime that morning. They are hoping for a swift resolution to the situation so they can continue providing services to their clients. Despite the frustration, they trust that the police will arrive on Tuesday to analyze the scene, even if it’s 24 hours after the crime. The police are expected to collect evidence, including fingerprints, to aid in the investigation.
