LUMA announced planned improvements to the electrical system in 35 municipalities during the week of October 5 to 11, with possible power outages in the affected areas. The work falls into several categories. Installation of automated devices is planned in Guaynabo, including La Peta sector, Santa Paula, Monte Verde, Piedras Blancas, Monte de los Frailes, the Martínez Nadal toll station, the municipal police station, Ridge Top and Mall Sánchez restaurants.
Dangerous vegetation removal is scheduled in Manatí (Bo. Sabana Seca), Guánica (Bo. Ciénaga), Aguadilla (town center, Aguadilla Mall, Ave. Corazones, El Paseo Real Marina), Villalba (Parcelas Jagüeyes, Hacienda Sosa, Miraflores) and San Juan (streets in Urb. Santiago Iglesias, including Antonio Arroyo and Manuel Texidor). New construction is listed in Quebradillas (Bo. Cocos, El Calvario) and at the Guaynabo Detention Center.
Replacement and repair of power lines and equipment is set for Aibonito (PR-724, Barriada San Luis). Work to increase pole resiliency is planned in Arecibo, Cayey, Gurabo, San Lorenzo, Aibonito, Lajas, Ponce (including Ponce Pueblo streets) and Manatí. A customer-requested job is listed in Bayamón (Calle 5, Urb. Sierra Linda).
