Nine days after a serious accident in Manatí, Carlos Meléndez Guadalupe and Gendy Rivera Nevárez are showing signs of recovery, according to their loved ones. Joshua Falcón, a friend of the couple, reported that both Carlos and Gendy are making progress in their recovery, with Gendy having begun to speak. Falcón described the moment when Gendy first spoke as especially emotional, saying 'it’s a miracle' that she is talking just nine days after the accident.
Gendy, who was seven months pregnant at the time of the accident, underwent an emergency cesarean section and her newborn daughter is also recovering. The couple’s 13-year-old son, who was also injured in the accident, has been able to meet his newborn sister and is recovering from his injuries, with his loved ones noticing improvements in his condition.
According to Falcón, the teenager has been able to hold his sister and spend time with her, which has been a moment of joy during this difficult time.
