The Puerto Rico Department of Labor and Human Resources (DTRH) will hold a job fair called "En Puerto Rico hay trabajo" on Wednesday, October 14, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM on the first level of Plaza Las Américas, in the space next to Walgreens. More than 70 employers and recruitment agencies will take part, offering full-time and part-time positions totaling more than 1,700 openings.

The jobs span food service, security, maintenance, construction, health, services, education, hospitality, manufacturing, banking and sales, among other fields. DTRH Secretary María del Pilar Vélez Casanova said one of the department’s priorities is getting job opportunities to people who are ready to work, and that the fair responds to Governor Jenniffer González Colón’s public policy of strengthening the workforce, expanding opportunities for workers and bringing government services closer to the public.

Vélez Casanova invited people looking for work, those wanting to take a new step in their careers, and those who want to return to the labor market. She said she wants attendees to leave with a new possibility and the certainty that there are opportunities in Puerto Rico for those who want to work and develop.

There are no requirements to participate, but attendees are advised to bring several copies of their resume and a valid photo ID, and to be ready for possible on-the-spot interviews, since some employers may conduct them during the event.
