Why this matters: This special showcases Puerto Rico’s culture and natural beauty, promoting local talent and traditions to a wide audience.

Jay Wheeler and the band Circo will be part of the Banco Popular de Puerto Rico’s traditional Christmas special, 'Reflejos de mi país’, which celebrates 34 years of showcasing what makes Puerto Ricans unique. Wheeler will perform 'Maga', a song he created especially for the special, while Circo will give a new life to the classic 'Sal a caminar' by Roy Brown.

The production brings together great figures in music to pay tribute to Puerto Rico’s natural and cultural richness through visuals, narration, and music. Wheeler, 32, said he never thought he would be part of a Banco Popular special and is grateful for the opportunity. He prepared a special song for his participation, which was recorded in Arecibo, and said he was inspired by Bad Bunny and how he has carried the name of Puerto Rico high.

The song, 'Maga', talks about the charms of Puerto Rico and is written as if the island were a woman. Wheeler hopes this experience will become a lasting memory and that he can look back and recognize the value of being part of a production that is already a tradition for Puerto Ricans.
