The Traffic Safety Commission has transformed the Educational Park at the Driver Services Center (CESCO) in Arecibo into a free Halloween-themed 'terror' scene called 'Terror Experience: Expediente 13', open Wednesday, October 28 through Friday, October 30, from 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM. The immersive exhibit uses scenes of real accidents, including actual wrecked cars as decoration, to show visitors the reality of driving under the influence of alcohol, at excessive speed, or without a seat belt. Commission director José 'Memo' González announced the event at a press conference at La Fortaleza, saying all the agency’s strategies have worked: road fatalities in Puerto Rico stand 25 below the comparable 2025 figure, with 211 deaths by this date in 2025 and 186 so far this year.
He said no deaths or serious crashes have occurred at any mass event where the commission has participated during this administration, including the San Sebastián Street Festival, the LAI’s Justas, the Bad Bunny concert, and Nación Zeta beach events. González noted the island’s main crashes involve drunk or speeding drivers, that texting behind the wheel is rising, and that police currently detain about 100 drunk drivers weekly.
